….. Happy holidays (# 1)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…….

Or so they say. If you are new to a low carb lifestyle this can be very scary. Even for experienced low carbers, this can be a very challenging time. So my gift to you for this holiday season will be my tips to survive and have fun. I will share a tip each day until 2018 keep you on track.

Last year was our first “official” low carb Christmas (..Silly season) and I’ve learned a few very valuable lessons from it.

With all the work parties, family get-togethers and endless cocktails, restaurant meals and desserts – I’m sure you are thinking “How is this possible?”. This is actually very easy and this is where my very first tip comes in: RELAX

I am sure you are now even more confused – how can you relax with all the non low carb food and events?  How can you relax with all the sweet temptations around? How can you relax when you want to loose weight and everyone around you don’t care? How can you relax?

The motto I go by and even more so during the holiday season:

This is a lifestyle, not a death sentence.

So how do you relax? Find new ways to socialize with family and friends. I know food seems to be the center of the universe, but you can change that. Go for a walk, take a relaxing bath, read a book, be creative – the options are endless.

So remember, the holiday season will only be as hard as you make it. Take a deep breath, relax and take it one meal at a time. You don’t have to be perfect, just be consistent.
